Son of Philippe II of

Louis' wife was Blanche of Castile (daughter

of King Richard I & King John)
Louis was "invited by rebellious
Barons to invade England" and displace
King John. In May 1216 the nobles pronounced
Louis King, but after the deposed King
John died (October 1216) changed their
minds and backed John's 9 year old son
Henry to become King Henry III. Louis
was paid 10,000 Marks to sign the "Treaty
